Austin Jared McGavin
Born: October 19, 2011 5:53 PM
6 lbs. 9 oz. 20 1/2 in.

Austin knew when he was ready to come! He didn't waste anytime coming! I woke up on October 19th at 6:00 to contractions. I didn't think this was the real thing so after slowly getting ready for work I arrived an hour late. After a short meeting with my assistants I went to my doctors appointment. She checked me and I was at a 3 1/2 cm. She told me I was in latent labor and that she would probably see us later that afternoon. She sent us home and we came back at 3:15 that afternoon and a little tender mercy met us there. My sister-in-law Sarah who works in labor and delivery was there for a meeting. She got me checked into room 14 and assigned me the most amazing nurse! At that point I was really struggling with the idea of going natural but when she checked me and I was 7cm. I decided I go a little longer, so about 40 minutes later my amazing nurse checked me and I was 9 cm and they starting setting things up. 20 minutes later I was at a 10 and I started pushing at 5:00 and Austin was born at 5:53 pm! It was so crazy how fast things went. I was really happy that I was able to meet my goal and go natural. Austin is the sweetest baby we have loved having him here! He is a daddy's boy! Jared loves Austin! More pictures to come!

Mary Poppins

Jared surprised me with Mary Poppins tickets for surviving my first busy season! We had a wonderful time together! We only got one picture that night...and I know I look sick in this picture! It really was just a bad picture, I'm just not very photogenic! Jared and I had a fun night together we went to dinner at Setebellos and had amazing pizza. The show was amazing. If you didn't get to see it while it was here you really missed a great show! Thank you Jared for making it such a special night!

Family Baby Shower

My amazing sister-in-laws threw an beautiful baby shower for me in August, it was perfect timing because they were all in town! The theme was, "B is for Baby," the decorations were incredible! They had a yummy crepe bar and don't you worry I tried every flavor! It was absolutely the sweetest gift my sister-in-laws could have given me. The time and effort they each took in putting it together was phenomenal! The pictures don't give it justice!

Crepe Bar Refreshment Table

My sister in-law Kara made this incredible bee hive cake. Have you ever seen anything cuter?! She has quite the talent!

My nieces wanted to be front and center while I opened all the gifts. They were great assistants in picking out what gift I should open next! They were so sweet. I just wish I would have gotten a picture of all of them sitting right in front of me with their eyes so big as each present was opened. This baby is going to be given lots of love by these sweet girls.

Thank you so much for an amazing shower! I promise the pictures do not do it justice! I'm one blessed girl. I could ask for better sisters! We are excited that this little boy will have 2 cousins to follow him. One in December, and one in January. We are also excited to have another second cousin coming in February. Lots of babies!! Oh so much fun!!

Finally...Our Trip to Washington D.C.

I have tried 3 times to get these pictures on our Blog and I keep getting interrupted before I finish...so here it is for real this time! In June we had an awesome opportunity to go to Washington D.C. to visit Cam, Sarah and Lucy for a week! We had a blast and we appreciated Cam and Sarah for letting us stay with them. It really was an amazing trip. It was our first trip Jared and I took just ourselves since our Honeymoon. We had a blast. Here are a series of pictures!

Arlington Cemetery. Our first stop!
The Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. We were able to see the change of the guard while we were there. It was really neat. They have someone guarding this tomb 24/7!
Here we are in the capitol building in the spot that is right in the middle of Washington D.C.
This was a cool shot of the capitol from inside, we were able to take a tour of the capitol building. It was really neat, and it was really fun to learn about all the history behind it.
Here we are in front of the capitol building.
Here is Jared at the WWII Monument. He served his mission in South Dakota so we had to take a picture!
Here we are in front of the Washington Monument. This was one our favorite stops. We were able to go to the top and see the amazing view.
Lincoln Monument
This was another fun day, we drove up to a beach in Delaware! It was worth the drive we had a great time playing in the sand and the waves! We even had a fun picnic! Thanks for taking us Cam and Sarah!

Cute Lucy playing in the waves! She is such a funny girl! We loved every minute with her!
Cam and Lucy love to play Scrabble together. Lucy decides what she want to spell and they sound the word out together and find the letters to make the words. She is so smart!
We celebrated Lucy's 3rd Birthday a few days early, with yummy cupcakes! We had so much fun with that girl...she was always making us laugh.
We gave Lucy a princess backpack for her birthday to carry her pink computer in. We had so much fun celebrating with her!
This is Jared's first subway ride!
On our last day in Washington D.C. we rented a paddle boat and rowed around the tidal basin. While we were out we saw the president fly above in his helicopter. See the picture below.
Thank you so much Cam, Sarah and Lucy! We had the best time with you guys!!
